With its latest release, Gemini 3 is positioning itself as a major leap forward in AI capability. According to The Verge, Google’s claim of “most intelligent model” for Gemini 3 isn’t far off - the hands-on test found the model delivered strong performance with a few caveats. The Verge

What Gemini 3 Can Do

  • Multimodal processing: Gemini 3 can interpret and generate across text, images, and video. The Verge’s reviewer asked it to build a 3D visualization of scales from a proton up to the galaxy - it correctly ordered and modeled elements, though some visuals lacked polish.

  • Generative UI: For Pro-users there’s a new “visual layout” mode where Gemini-3 presents answers as interactive webpages or magazine-style layouts (e.g., a three-day travel itinerary you can tweak). The Verge reviewer found this impressive in concept.

  • Agentic features: It can perform tasks on your behalf - like organizing your emails via Gmail, setting reminders, unsubscribing from spam, and more. The Verge reviewer tried this and found Gemini-3 worked, but with some hiccups (like confusion over booking costs).

The Upside & The Realities

Pros

  • Major step up in reasoning and multimodal capabilities: if your workflow involves mixed media or complex tasks, Gemini 3 offers real potential.

  • Smooth integration into existing Google apps (especially for those already using Gmail, Google Workspace) gives it an edge in convenience.

  • The “visual layout” and “agent” features point toward a future where AI isn’t just answering questions ... it’s crafting experiences and doing things for you.

Cons / Limitations

  • Visual outputs can still feel rough around the edges: the 3D models in the test lacked detail compared to Google’s demos.

  • Agentic tasks are promising, but still need user oversight: The Verge noted Gemini 3 “almost” booked a reservation, but then mis-communicated about costs.

  • Everyday users may not feel the difference every time: while the advanced features are impressive, many routine queries are satisfied by simpler models - and Gemini 3 may not be worth the upgrade just yet for basic use.

Why This Matters Now

The AI landscape is shifting: beyond chat and Q&A, models are becoming active collaborators. Gemini 3 is part of this trend, where AI isn’t just “give me the answer” but “help me build it, visualize it, execute it.” For digital marketers, designers, developers - this means new possibilities: faster prototyping, smarter content workflows, richer interactive experiences.

Final Word

If you’re working in a space where complex multi-format tasks, interactive visuals, or automation of workflows matter, then Gemini 3 is a big deal. It’s not flawless, but it shows where AI is headed: more integrated, more capable, and more hands-on. On the other hand, if you primarily use AI for straightforward text responses, you might not need to sprint toward Gemini 3 just yet.
